For the 2024 edition of the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR® at Darlington Raceway, Layne Riggs gave a tip of the cap to his father, Scott, and one of his most iconic paint schemes of his long and successful NASCAR® career.
In 2000, Scott Riggs wheeled a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series® entry in 15 events with the sponsorship of a highly-recognizable cola brand. After taking a step back from his driving career years later, he put his son Layne under his wing as the younger Riggs began his ascent up the racing ladder at short tracks such as Orange County Speedway in North Carolina. Now a rookie in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series®, Layne paid it back to his dad with a tribute throwback paint scheme on his No. 38 Infinity Communications Ford F-150 at Darlington.
